My 2014 Nissan Rogue started having electrical issues, which I finally found was due to the VVT solenoids needing replaced. But even though the engine is firing correctly I am still getting an error from my airbags of B142a. Is it possible that the electrical issues FUBARed the airbag module? What would be my next steps to get this code fixed?

Note that I also replaced the battery, spark plugs, and coil packs. The two MIGHT not be related, but 2 electrical issues at the same time seems suspicious.

Have you tried erasing it? Airbag codes don't clear by themselves after a problem goes away, they have to be cleared by a scanner. If they aren't cleared the bag light will stay on forever, even though the code is "past". It's entirely possible you caused it while changing the battery and there's no actual problem.

I did try resetting and it comes right back. I am using a foxwell nt630.

Then it's either a wiring problem or the Bag Brain is cooked. You can find the wiring diagram here on SRC-26, the Brain is located under the center console. If you have good ignition power and ground on the center connector, then it's a bad Brain:
