Ok so I found a pair of the Solex carbs for $100. Should I swap them in for the SUs on my '68 2000?
Are they a significant performance upgrade?

Are they more or less temperamental than the SUs?

Do they hurt MPG?

Thanks

Will they bolt onto your manifold? You also need to look into linkage (it will differ from SU's). Do they need to be rebuilt? $100 is insanely cheap, it makes me wonder if there is a catch, or are they just a great catch.

MPG difference is not much on these small cars, performance difference is there and noticeable.

Just make sure the carbs are in good shape (get a rebuild kit if needed), also look into the manifold / linkage side as well.

If they're in good shape then you just got a crazy deal.

I have double webers on my car and the sound is great, you need an other manifold, it cost you about 300 bucks. The acceleration is better but they need to be adjusted and sincronized.

You can use the solex as well, how many mm are these, 44?
I work with a fast cam too on my 1600, and use the 40mm weber DCOE.
I know that the manifold for the webers and solex are the same, but for the 1600 and 2000 they are different.
