Hi, the solenoid behind the head of my SOHC KA engine broke. The plastic part where the hose connects to it came off w/ the hose. I think its ment for the EGR and Canister control. Is there anyway to fix this w/ out getting a new one? Will i pass smog if i dont replace it and wat the hell does it do?

if your engine is stock , your 1991 engine would be dohc. The solenoid is normally open so the vacuum signal from throttle body gets to egr valve. The computer can close the solenoid so the vacuum signal does not get to egr valve. egr=exhaust gas recirculation

thx for the info. since its normally open, does this mean that even if part of it broken off and i can't put the hose back onto the egr solenoid, i can still pass smog?
