If you have enough slack wire left on the connector to form a pigtail, solder-shrink sleeves are better than any hand soldering you can do (take that from someone who's been soldering for 50 years and can hand solder a TQFP chip without batting an eye). Shrinks are easy, strong, and most importantly watertight. If you don't have enough slack, post a pic and I'll advise you the best way to fix it.

My bad, I notice you said you already have a new pigtail. In that case, shrinks are definitely the way to go. Most parts stores these days sell them, or you can get a whole box on eBay or Amazon for about $10. The only tool needed is a Bic lighter. Strip both wire ends about 3/8", slide the shrink over one end, twist the ends together, slide the solder band in the center of the shrink over the twisted copper, then heat the shrink until the solder band melts and the plastic shrinks. Voila, perfect repair every time. Keep the shrink in the blue part of the flame and you won't get soot.

Solder-Shrink Sleeves. Amazing! I never knew this was a thing. Old dogs can learn new tricks. Thank you.

P1612 is a NATS security code which will prevent the engine from starting. You may have blown one of the fuses, you need to check #16 in the cabin fusebox and #62 in the underhood fuse & relay box. Fuse #16 is ignition, #62 is battery, both need to be good for the IMMU on the key cylinder to function. Fuse #62 also powers a leg of the ECM Relay and the CKP sensor, so there's a good chance it's causing both issues. If it's blown then check your new wiring, you may have wires out of order on the new connector. See the foldout section of the manual here for the fuse arrangements:

For reference, looking at the back of the CKP connector (where the wires enter) with the polarizer tab facing up, from left to right the harness colors should be Black, White, Black/White.
