Owning two Q45's is an expensive habit so I sold my 90Q to the son of a coworker who was thrilled to own a Q45. The heater quit working in the winter and the AC wasn't working this summer. Both made the car unbearable to drive and I saw no advantage to fixing it and sold it for $1000 just to get it out of my hair.

This was my 2nd Q purchased in July 2006 with 221k miles for $500 from a former original Yahoo Infiniti board member who took great care of the car but failed smog and didn't want to deal with it anymore. It also had a 2nd gear start TCU and was gutless compared to his new BMW. It only needed O2 sensors to pass smog and I sold it a month later for $3000. Two years later I bought it back for $1500 because the owner was tired of injector issues (CEL light was on) and couldn't get it smogged. After one bottle of Redline S1 injector cleaner it passed smog (again). She's been my daily driver for 3 years and has needed no maintenance other than a fuel pump and radiator replacement. I put on new struts, G35 wheels and Michelin PS tires, replaced all speakers, amps and head unit, bought like-new front and rear burgundy seats and interior, and passed smog 3 times (every 2 years) with no issues. She was sold with 256k miles and had no issues other than the HVAC and intermittent cruise control function. This Q was mechanically sound and blistering fast and will be cruising the streets of North Sacramento for many more years. I'll miss her.

I'll miss the 90Q but won't have a heavy heart for too long since I bought a 94Q with 49k on the odometer a couple of weeks ago. I've owner seven Q45's and this is the best one yet.

Congrats on the 94! Such low miles! The 94 is has some cool features that hopefully you will really like. How did the previous owner only have 49k miles?

Since you asked.......I'm fortunate to have inherited all of the service records from day one (including the window sticker) and after sorting and entering the service history into a spread sheet it looks like the original owner, an airline pilot, drove only 20k miles in the first 7 1/2 years. There's no records for the next 5 years where it was driven only 6,000 miles. I understand the original owner had a lengthy illness and passed away during this time so the Q spent most of the first 12.5 years sitting in the underground parking garage of a high-rise condo complex in Las Vegas. In late 2005 the original owner's son in La Jolla, CA gets the car and drives 7,500 miles in 2.5 years. La Jolla is a beach community and doesn't see heat or sun much. I suspect the Q was also garaged during this time.

About January 2008 the son sells the car to Bruce (he needed a 4 door) with 34k miles and he actually gets his money's worth driving about 15k miles in 2 1/2 years and parking it in the garage between his Lotus Esprit and 70's V8 MG. Needless to say it was well taken care of. I bought it last month from Bruce with 49,700 miles after it had been driven to Sacramento from Escondido, about 500 miles.

The first Q I owned was also a 94 base. A great car and much more refined than the 90 I just sold. The 90 felt more like a performance car, and the 94 feels like a luxury car.

I'm trying to sell my wife's 1997 Q45. She doesn't love it anymore after someone ran into her rear passenger side door. I had just changed the knock sensors and it was running great, then some knucklehead hit her in a parking lot and ruined that door. I bent the dent out so it wasn't too bad, but then the rack and pinion started leaking so I replaced it (found an awesome guy in NC that sold it to me for $125 after sending him back my old core, in case anybody needs one), and then the high pressure hose and pump started to leak! If anybody out there wants it, let me know. If I can't find someone that wants to love and care for it the way I did, I am going to donate it and take the tax break.
