SOLD my car for guess how much!!

well guys, with a messed up front end, (motor is fine), i sold my car for a WHOPPING 3,000 dollars today. lol, insurance tried to give me 1500 for me car cuz they wouldnt' cover custom. since blue book is 4,500 for it....-They took off $1500 for the blue paint (since i changed the color didn't tell them)-They took off $600 for the holes in my trunk (taking off my spoiler)-minused excess stuff, lil scratches you could barely see.

BASICALLY i got FUKKED badly. and i declare myself legally insane for selling my COMPLETE car with everything still intact to my good friend with an s14 for $3,000.

i dont get it.. the bluebook says 4,500.. thats with any color.. what a **** thng for insurance to do.. what.. since you painted the color.. it added hp or makes you more inept as a driver? i dont understand their reasonin for takin off 1500 just cuz you changed the color.

no its just the front end that is messed up badly...i needed the money quick, and plus needed it out my driveway. strict laws....

Damn is that with the upgraded turbo, the seats, dvd and everything else? You could have parted it for way more than that.

Sorry to hear about your car man. Bad things happen to good people that we all hate to hear about. Atleast your in 1 piece, thats the important part.Not to bring you down, but something for everyone to consider is to have your car appriased and documented. Most insurance companies with insure your car based on the appraisal and everything is covered on the new policy. Yea its a bit more in premium but to me its worth it.Just some input incase you decide to built a new car and letting others know what can happen if not covered.

I'd be interested to see what the policy actually says. I can't see how they can remove $1500 for having different paint. Unless the job was so poor it makes the car worth less. Holes in the trunklid for the spoiler seem excessive too. Care to elaborate some? I handle claims for a living and can't see how they justify this...

well see...thats what i'm saying too. my dads friend is really big with allstate and he said it was odd that they did that too. but he reviewed it. i don't know anything about insurance and ****, and he said that everything there was legit and they can do that. also take into account that i had shaved door handles, etc. No one understands i guess...but honestly, i could give a **** anymore. i took 1300 from the company and kept the car. then i sold it to my friend. of course i coulda parted it out, but i needed the money then...
