hey guys im new to the forum i just wanna say this forum is pretty dope compared to alot of forums i visit...

well the question i wanna ask is is the KA24E worth buildin and then boost? cheaper alternative to KA24DE i suppose and building that motor...i was thinking

-8:1 compression pistons (JE)-Crower Connecting Rods-Darton sleeves-Balanced crankshaft maybe knife edgedrebuilt head with porting matching and polishing using stock valves/retainers/but with semi aggressive cams and an adjustable rocker arm-Slightly ported intake manifold-760cc injectors on a fuel rail with a walbro fuel pump -high flow oil pump-t3(big) turbo tubular manifold 3 inching it all the way through and large front mount-Also new motor mounts, remapped ecu

thats what i want to do but question is does companies like crower/je etc.. produce parts for the SOHC and not too expensive?

Any feedback will be appreciated

You can check out http://www.courtesyparts.com for the NISMO race engine parts for the SOHC.

8:1 is a bit too low IMO... 8.5 is still safe.

You don't really need to sleeve the block... it's a strong block.

look for the earlier SOHC pistons, their compression is 9.1

I built my KAe for boost. JE pistons, rods, mild head work, JWT cam, good head gasket, and thats about it. i am running 9:0 compresion, and i figure i should be able to run around 14psi pretty easy, daily drivin. i am not really looking for huge power though, only around 280-350 rwhp.

Well i have had some build problems mainly. its a pretty long story and i would have most likely sold the car if i wasnt 8k+ into it. lets just say 1 year of down time, 5k+ spent, and the car is still being worked on. but i should have it up and running in a week or 2, and hopfully will be running for a long time after.

lets just say that for the money i have spent, if i could go back one year i would have installed an SR20det. When i started the rebuild i thought, everyones going SR, lets try something else, so i rebuilt. after riding in 2 difrent 240s with SR, i was kicking myself when i got out, because i dont have the money to be as fast as them for another year. maybe if stuff would have happened like i planed i might think difrently.

Yeah and thats the plan, run 1bar for daily. with what i have done i should be around 300 rwhp. the torque should just about match the HP maybe a little higher because of all the head work and cam i have. should be nice, going to get a pull when i finaly have everything working good maybe next month, will post the it after its done.

alot of KA turboed 240sx pulls on sr20dets mainly because of torque, damn 1 year of downtime sorry to hear that man, i have a shop that i can goto they do good work, built my friends 10 sec civic, but yeah man best of luck to ya i dont wanna go sr20det because 1.205hp stock might seem impressive but so much you have to do to make it 300rwhp cams, head work, ecu, injectors etc...if i have a 300rwhp ka24e you have mad bragging rights dont you think?

Yeah i supose I would have bragging rights, but for the money i have spent i could have had an SR, running 220 or so rwhp, coilovers, sway bars, strut tower braces, new bushings. even posable a short shifter, LSD, and camber plates.
