ok in my vocational class for auto engine repair i replaced a head gasket on an 89 nissan 240sx, now that we put it back together the engine will turn over but wont start. we get about 60 psi in compression across the board and theres definently fuel going into the cylinders but it seems to be running very rich. all connections and vacum lines are in place. any ideas?

60 psi is no where near enough for the car to run. you have either bent your valves or have the timing chain lined up wrong in which case you may have bent the valves.

ok, our #1 piston is at top dead center, and since we cant see the bottom link and indentation on the gear we are wondering where the lil dip on the camshaft should be. should it be lined up level with the right side of the top of the head? your help is very very much appreciated
