after changing the valve cover on my SOHC the two bolts on the exhaust side thread in but dont get tight, all the other ones tightened up just fine. I tried switching the bolts around and it did the same so I think its something with the threads in the hole. Any help would be great.

They are probably stripped. I have a few like that as well. I ended up just getting some course thread bolts and re-tapped them.
