sohc transmission swap.. need some help on this one.

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

where can i find a transmission for this crappy motor, and is it a hard swap?

is it the water or what search before posting from now on a dohc transmission is the same except obdII they have some sensor or something.....

unbolt old ,install new

The hardest part is getting it back in. E and DE trannies up to 96 (pre obdII) are the exact same.

so can you use a transmission off a sohc and put it on ka dohc? will that work?

+1. Getting it out takes a little time and some elbow grease. Putting it back in takes more time, more elbow grease, and lots of finesse.

The only difference with the OBDII transmission is it has a crank angle sensor in a little hole at the top of the bellhousing. You could leave it in, or pull it out and plug up the hole.
