SOHC to SR20DET, do I have to change the gauge cluster?

I have an SOHC car and Im swappin in an SR, do I need to swap out my gauge cluster for the tach to work? I have a H.U.D.

yes, in order to have a correct tach you will have to change the cluster. in my sr coupe i have the sr tach that shows 9k and i would recomend it. you should be able to easily find a company that will take your tach out and put the sr tach in.

edit: you will have to pull you cluster and send it off.

Or if you know how to swap in an sr into your car, changing out the tachometer in your gauge cluster should be candy. Just buy a jdm gauge cluster and swap out the tachometers.

Use the HUD Cluster and just swap to a DOHC KA Tach or SR Tach. I use my SOHC HUD with DOHC Tach from time to time.

Little trimming required if the jdm tachometer is from an analog cluster. And make sure you get an sr cluster instead of a ca cluster. Forget what the differences were.
