Alright I'm trashing the piece of s*** SOHC and swapping in the DOHC KA24DE into my 90 s13.

I already got the DE, all the pumps and brackets and all the other little BS that needed to be done since the guy who sold me the motor stripped it before he shipped it to us. Now I got 2 problems.

Problem 1:
I got the new A/C lines from a coupe in the junkyard. The Nissan dealer said all the parts would work, but the higher A/C line that connects to the fire wall has a tube that's supposed to connect and that's too big for the connector to the fire wall, so i figured I'd Frankenstein the old line and the new one by putting them together where both lines come apart in the middle, but the couplings are backwards from each other so that don't work. The new A/C line has a larger tube that connects to the firewall as opposed to the old one. how do I fix this?

Problem 2:
I'm putting in the wiring harness as we speak and I'm matching the plugs up and low and f*** behold the power steering plug is different from the SOHC plug on the lines. Do I need new lines? or is there something I'm missing here.

My personal problem:
If this POS doesn't get done before the end of the summer, my dad is taking all the s*** to the junkyard. I'm pissed about this since I've bought Megan coil overs and a lot of miscellaneous parts for this car to make sure it lasts.

I've read the swap guide on here, and it does say I need the new power steering lines from a DOHC car. But my dad is convinced otherwise. So I figured I'd come to the most reliable place on the internet and find my answers. Thanks guys

For Prob 2:
You should be running complete DOHC engine harness, only splicing in the dash connector from the SOHC one to connect inside to the dash.

It is a complete harness, Only now I've found out the douche bag who sent it to me from texas lied that it was for a 5 speed transmission. I got the VIN of the car it came out of is there anyway I can see if it was an auto or a 5 speed. cuz theres 4 plugs on my transmission and only one on this harness.

You should be able to decode the VIN here:
http://garage.projectraine.com/content_ ... mid01.html

An AT harness can still work though.

A google search for "s13 sohc dohc dash plug" should find it.

yes you deffinately will need all the dohc powerstering parts including the tentioner for the pump the new pump and ALL the lines... and the dash plug thing is fairly simple... type in 90 s13 dohc swap in on google and it will bring up you tube vids of ppl acually showing you how!!! but for some reason when i spliced mine, the headlights and turnsignals dont work up front anymore...i know for a fact they all worked when i took the ka24e out... but the alll the rear lights work... and the headlights work but the flip up motors wont flip the lights up? and my speedo goes up to about 35 and stays there when i turn it on... the sohc tach dosent work...(didnt exspect it to) so youll need an aftermarket unit/ 91-94 s13 tack but any info on my problems would be great too!!! hope this helps a lil :bigthumb:

you need the brake pedal ( unless you cut your which i really dont recommend ) the transmission saddle, clutch line. if your swapping your auto 24DE to a 5spd than you will want a 24DE 5spd TPS ( my auto tps gave me an issue i cant remember)

I heard recently a guy can buy a adapter kit for the tach which costs $25. seeing as how there is no 240sxs around here for me to get a tach out of this is my best option.

has anyone heard anything about these?

wtf do you read at all before you post???

thanks.

anyways i got the ka24e out today, i wanted to investigate where the knocking was coming from so i zipped off the oil pan with my impact..... I could move the crank shaft about 2 inches in every direction with everything still connected. wow, can you say rolled bearing? lol

im in the process of making a bracket for the 'e' powersteering pump to go on the 'de' motor. I figure once the pump is on the engine I'll just make custom lines. Turning out good so far. Other then that Im going to rip out my AC system
