OK so here is the deal.

I did a Sohc to Dohc swap on my 89 Coupe. Got everything running, just that the gauge cluster isn't working. What could be the problem? Harnesses and everything are in and nothing is loose.

Any Ideas what could be the problem?

You have to upgrade to a DOHC cluster from a 91-93 240

I thought just the tach wouldn't work - you'd have to get the tach from a 91+ and swap just that gauge , other than that it should work.

harness problem if everything's not working. if it were just the tach/speed, then it'd be with the wiring at the lower harness/sensor.

At this moment nothing on the gauge is working. Except for the clock and lighting, and all little red lights for the door, oil. etc.

None of the gauges are working, speedometer, temp, tach, etc.

We already changed out the lower harness twice. the Dohc and sohc, still doesn't work.

What i'm thinking my best bet would be to change out the whole cluster itself?

91+ since those are the years that the dohc came out i'm assuming right?

If so i'll have to go get one.

Thanks guys

i dont know your exact problem, but my sohc cluster works fine on the dohc... seems like theres something wrong with the wiring before the cluster... thats a big headache. good luck

I am using a sohc cluster on my 91 dohc... speedo, fuel, water temp work fine .. no tach.. and the weird thing is that when I put my foot on the brake pedal my cluster lights light up now and when my headlights are on my brake lights are on constantly.. could this be that I didn't use the sohc subharness?
