sohc timing chain guide question real quick

ok i have the rattle when i start up my car. i want to remove the guides. do i remove both the guides? if i am standing in front of the car looking down into the motor is it the right or left one? i know there is a ton of write ups but it seems to be only dohc. can someone give me direction?gracias

you don't remove the guides and just leave them off, on the dual cam there is an upper guide that can be removed with no ill effects, but to answer your question about the sohc look here, http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=220814and it's also gonna be a good idea to replace your oil pump when you do the timing kit, it's pretty cheap to do
