i dont consider it a problem, but id still like to get it resolved. either way, i can live with it.

my car starts up fine, but requires me to step on the throttle a few times before it will start.if i dont give it any gas, it will just keep trying to turn over and never start.

anyone have any opinions? i cleaned out my throttle body over the weekend (actually removed the whole thing and sprayed it out with carb cleaner and wiped it down), so i dont think thats the issue. nothings clogged in my intake tubing.

ive got no idea why ive gotta pump the gas to start the car. oh, this only happens if the car has been sitting for a while. if i for example pull in to get some gas or something and the engine is still warm, i dont need to pump the gas when i start it.

I had a similar problem on mine except mine would start up good on cold starts and bad on warm starts. And mine was a rough idle and **** too.

Pumping the gas pedal really isn't doing anything since the car is port fuel injected. All you're doing is opening and closing the throttle plate maybe allowing some more air into the cylinders while cranking.Whens the last time you changed your air filter? Or check the duct work to make sure it is clear. Just a thought.Or maybe the IACV if the sohc even has one. I'm not too firmiliar with it

If that does nothing maybe try disconnecting the TPS and see how it starts/runs when I did that mine seemed to start up better and not have the rough idle

i havent cleaned that thing since i bought the car lol.its an injen intake, can i just pop the air filter off and spray it out thoroughly with a hose, and let it dry overnight?
