Just wandering if anyone on here can help me out, would sohc pistons in a dohc make the compressrion ratio high enough to bend a stock rod? Does anyone have any information about this?? Thanks in advance for all your help!

No.The stock rotating assy on Nissans is one of the toughest, although if you take the time to build a motor, then you should polish the rods, or buy after market with out the oil hole.

When doing the SOHC piston swap, its only the pistons right? Can we keep the dual cams rods? Or do we need to find SOHC pistons AND rods?

I'm interested in this too. I need to replace my piston rings so I though, hey while I'm at it, why not put in some SOHC pistons.

So let me know how it turns out. I just started researching this.

DOHC rods are the same size and length... they should work.

I'm doing this for the same reason as you... I need new rings and SOHC pistons are only like $120 to my door.

Ebay... leme find a link real fast...

Link

The only problem I see is that I cant tell if they are the 11:1 or the 11.7:1 pistons... I kind of hope they are the 11 to 1 set, because I don't feel like going much higher than that in my DD.

Most of the brand new aftermarket sets are 11:1.
