If you go through with this and the 93 octane is just barely cutting it you should look into water or methanol injection. Maybe it would be enough to actually advance the timing.

good idea: someone buy my sohc pistons/rods. $40 theres no scratches or anything, just needs to be cleaned up. lemme know

not really.. my buddy's lsvtec has a compression ratio of 12.5.1 and he runs 93 and it doesnt ping( valve knock). his car is tuned but still

if you were to do this you are going to have to get it tuned.

completely different engines thought. Just cause 12.5:1 doesn't ping in a honda doesn't mean it won't in a nissan.My TL has 10.5:1 compression, stock ecu, and I've ran 150 wet shot on it on top of every bolt on for the engine and I haven't knocked on 91 octane.Try doing that on a ka with 91 and you'll probably end up knocking.the stock timing map is on the ka is fine for 12:1 and 93, but start advancing the timing and you could be looking at issues.
