Hi, i have an s13, SOHC that overheated on me today.
idk what it could be
the car was running fine before this random thing happened.
the car had a ticking noise so i was only two blocks away from home and i barly drove today
it is 92 degrees outside btw.
so right before the my house the car started overheating, the temp gauge was fine a little before halfway
then it started going up and the engine was smoking.
so its parked by my house, im letting it cool off for the rest of the day.
so i can check whats wrong
is everything gonna be ok, i know plenty of cars overheat and they drive fine, idk what the problem could be. any ideas? and it was only two blocks, the engine wont be seriously damaged right?

you could have an array of problems.. the engine was smoking? your problem could be anything from an electric fan not turning on to a cracked block.

check the oil, coolant, and under the car for any leaks. run the car at idle for 20 minutes, if it overheats at any time, turn it off immediately.. where was the engine smoking from?
