Hey guys i was thinking since i can't get enough info on the sohc piston swap, like the piston to valve clearance with the crower v2 cams. Should i just get some Arais high compression pistons made for the DE, like 10.6:1 or 10.7:1 the motor will have the v2 cams in it with a cometic hp headgasket. Can anyone help me out? Would this be the safer route to go? Either way the pistons will be new, and does anyone know that the stock bore is in mm, and also a .20 over bore in mm???Thanks alot!

V2 Cams, SOHC pistons, stock headgasket, milled head, ported, rods shot peened and polished, ARP studs, GM ECU or Megasquirt. But you can try ROM tuning if you like, if you do, look up Calum.

Is that the set-up your are running? Hows its run??? What do u mean by milled head, and what would be the difference between the stock head gasket and the cometic hp head gasket????

The setup I am running is turbo. That is the setup I would run if I decided to not be turbo. I would also consider clover-leafing the head. The cometic head gasket is an MLS, which requires an incredibly smooth block to gasket to head finish.

The V2 Cams are mild enough for a very high compression setup caused by running the 11.1:1 setup milled .015 over, which would be something like 12.5:1. Porting it should be good for better flow. The rest is all about faster revs and good tuning.

Much in the same way it all is about turning up the pressure for us, to turn up flow. Everything leads up to that. For you, everything should lead to getting to your powerband as soon as possible, and making it as big as you can. This will likely lead to you losing power in other parts of the band, but you must have plans that are conducive to this sort of design or you would not have picked it. Right?
