I have an 89 SOHC hatch that my dad and I just picked up. We brought it home checked it out and saw the motor mounts and possibly the transmission mount needed replacing. Any ideas on what kind of motor/transmission mount I should get? I heard the NISMO ones raised the engine up abou 1/4 of an inch. If you could give me the type and price that would be great.

you should be able to go to any parts store and pick up a set... unless you are going for something after market.

Here is the link to NAPA's mounts (kind of confusing):http://www.napaonline.com/Mast...Id=14

Here is the link to Autozone's:http://www.napaonline.com/Mast...Id=14

Also the link to Checker (Shucks,Kragen) auto:http://www.partsamerica.com/Pr...Set=A

Prices start at $50 and go to around $120

Yeah, I don't know if I'd want to buy something that's half the price of every other brand

Wow that's pretty surprising. Do the NISMO's give a stiffer ride or anything?I would think they're of pretty good quality since they are NISMO. Cool thanks.

Oh one last thing, about those NISMO mounts, I've been searching and some people say it raises the engine up about 1/4 of an inch. Is that true and will it cause any clearance problems? I haven't really heard about the transmission mounts but I would imagine that would be the same case.

That's a pretty good deal. I'm positive about the motor mounts but iffy on the transmission. Me and my old man will have to give it a better look tomorrow.

I don't have any problems with my nismo mounts (trans + motor) and i have seen to many problems with autozone stuff. atleast their brand on things (the duralast seems to be quite problematic i work at advance auto parts and we get tons of people who come from autozone)

so... why were people saying that they were having problems with the NISMOs? I probably won't go with Duralast so should I just look for some stock ones? I don't know, this is my first car and we (my dad and I) just got it 2 days ago. We were planning on going with the NISMOs at first. He knows alot more than I do but I just wanted your opinions.

ive got nismo motor and transmission mounts, i havent had any problems.

certainly doesnt feel like it raised the center of gravity any, still corners just fine. still clears the hood, dont know about strut tower braces, but it relaly doesnt look that high at all.

i dont see what the beef with nismo mounts is.

how can you justify that?

i had no idea stock or like-oem products were the same as aftermarket/performance oriented products...

My friend had it on his 240 he said there's no real difference, on top of that there's a constant debate on if it works good or not, just go stock and no nothing can go wrong.
