My pride and joy is my 1990 SOHC 240 5 speed...but I also have a 1991 DOHC auto that's a parts car that runs. I want to put the DOHC into the 90 with the 5 speed. I want to know what I need to do to the HARNESS and ECU in order to convert it from an auto to the manual?? Can that harness and ECU be tweeked or do I need to buy one specifically for a DOHC manual? Thanks 240 GURUs.

i'm not feelin' that ricer kit at all..but...here's some info anyways..

-----------------------------------------------Single Cam to Twin Cam swap-----------------------------------------------

you will need:

twin cam motortwin cam motor harnesstwin cam ecutwin cam mafstwin cam intake pipetwin cam power steering lines (all)twin cam heater hosescustom a/c linestwin cam gauge cluster

you will need to completely remove all single cam power steering lines and install the twin cam lines; from reservoir to pump. install motor. the twin cam harness will need the brown gauge cluster plug removed and the white single cam cluster plug put on in its place. just match colors. those that dont match; discard. as far as a/c, the line ends can be changed by a competent line maker, or you can replace the condensor with a twin cam unit and hard line along firewall, changing only the fitting end going into the a/c evaperator via the fitting on the firewall

One more thing...

So I don't need to doing anything to the DOHC harness to convert it from automatic to a manual when I put it into the 1990 besides the cluster gauge plug?? Are there any wires that run to transmission?? Also...do I need to have the ECU reprogrammed or anything so that it'll work with the manual instead of the automatic transmission??

Thanks, Craig
