Posted this here cause I need help on it fast. On the cam when setting the timing on the SOHC can anyone tell me how the knockpin is suppose to be set? Is it suppose to be set straight up and down or slanted alittle to the right? I looked in the book and the picture says straight up and down, but then in the picture it is slanted.

Thanks

If your're talking about the little hole in the timing gear then it is supposed to be lined up with the silver link in the timing chain.

Cool thanks. I put the silver links lined up. The knockpin isnt exactly 12o clock i would say its between 12 and 1. Would that affect anything? Say its one tooth off it should still start, right?

Yeah, the silver link lining up is the most important part. I think they say 12 o'clock as a general thing. Not sure how far you went in but there is another silver link that should line up on your crank too.

Ya I have both silver links lined up. The knock pin just didnt look like it was at the 12o clock position, I dont know. I turned it over by hand and it doesnt seem to hit anything.

Thanks you for the info WAbernethy.
