entire.. not partly... :)your BOV is not shown, your MAF/Filter show partly.... a birdeye view will be great to figure your setup ( or we have to go over few pictures to figure your entire setup. )

edit: Good work by the way :thumbup

great job...welcome to the turbo sohc club...

you had better heat shield all those hoses and wires you have sitting above your manifold...it gets really hot there

I've been doing steel fabrication for about 5 years now (about the same amount of time I've had my '90 240 se). I've been a member of 240sx.org for a while and was the regional contact for western new york. I've been working as a steel fabricator for about 5 years now and I'd be willing to do some custom fabrication for anyone who wants a turbo manifold for their ka24e. I'll beat realnissans price of $390. I also am an engineering student so I have experience with that as well. If anyone is interested I have a small site at http://www.geocities.com/aja11783/AJAMetal.html

shoot me an email at [email protected] if anyone wants to talk about a custom manifold or any other custom fabrication.

Could you cast a manifold?

WDRacing:I'm getting ready to buy the KA24E manifold from realnissan.com. How soon do you think it'll be before you have a manifold ready??? My set-up will be a T04b with EGT bong and Audi 5000 external wastegate.

casting the manifold would cost too much in initial setup for such small scale production...much more cost efficient to machine and fabricate it

I was just curious. Most of us will probably go the easier/more proven way of getting exhaust/turbo flanges from places like JG for around 100 bucks, then getting the bends for another 25 and having someone weld together for 50-100. That's 175-225 for a well made manifold, and if ppl have friends with welders(free welding), then it's around 125.

If you would be willing to weld the flanges/piping together for a good price (shipping would be paid by owner), then you may get a good thing going, of course this is assuming you'll be making log style manifolds, and not equal length runner types. For the latter, it takes some rmoe skill and more labor, so you'd probably be cheaper(and maybe more skillful) than most exhaust shops/friends w/welders.

I would suggest making a few test-manifolds (some log, some equal runner), selecting some people to test them for you, and thereby prove your craftsmanship to others. Then you could have a whole business going on.

turbo manifold will turn red hot under extreme load. It take more than just skill to weld a manifold. Experieced and knowledge are necessary to make a manifold to resist cracking under hash condition. I believe WDracing are aware of it.

This would be a good method and I would be willing to do any of the work needed...but bear in mind that if you get your steel piping from a muffler shop, it is garbage. It is often too thin for a long term turbo manifold. So whether you go through me or not, I would not use less than 1/4". Also, if it is pickled with oil (to prevent rust), clean it before installing it. It wont start on fire, but it will smoke like crazy for quite a while. Xylene cuts oil pretty well, but its very toxic.

Anyways, if anyone is interested in having anything done, please help out a starving college kid.

If you started this 3 months ago, I would have ask you to built IC piping and etc.

Well, now you ou can help me to built a 3" 'multi-section' cat back :-)I am looking for a 3" exhaust flange too( to weld into my down pipe, so I can screw 3" exhaust to it.) You have any ?

Sorry fella's, I don't get back stateside till December, I'll be busting A$$ to get the kits ready for distrobution by late Jan early Feb. My manifolds are Log style but will be port matched and polished. Unlike RevHard which the exhaust ports require alot of porting.

If you want a kit soon your gonna have to go elsewhere, but you can always upgrade your fuel setup with mine at anytime. Or I can sell just the manifold...I'll be open to whatever.

Sounds like AAlmeter is willing to do some custom mani's, so I'm sure he could hook you up with a good mani until I get my bizz up and running.

You can use alot of other cool chemicals aside from Xylene to clean off the oils, Toluene is pretty cheap at paint supply stores...I've used brake cleaner on a few oily jobs. I dunno I'm just rambling.

Of course, nothing less than 1/4" bends/t's for a manifold, anything else is pointless.

AAlmeter: I'm in Pittsburgh and I am sourcing parts for my sohc turbo install. I would be interested in getting one of your manifolds. Are you planning on alog or equal length style setup? I may have to hit you up for a custom downpipe too :)

paNX...shoot me an e-mail [email protected]

Because of its better heat properties and the fact that an equal length manifold is of lesser importance in a turbo than a n/a engine, I use a log type manifold. Also, where in Pittsburgh are you? During the school year, Im in North Oakland (Im an engineering student at Pitt). Don't worry...I will still taking all my equipment with me and will still be doing custom fab work during the school year.
