Just this past Thursday I finally put the car back on the road, turbo setup complete.

I'm running a freshly rebuilt T3 from a Z31, currently at stock boost, 6 psi.

Nearly everything you see was made from scratch by myself in my garage. This includes the downpipe, complete exhaust, intercooler piping, etc. These peices are all 18 gauge mild mandrel bends, TIG welded by myself.

I'm running an S-AFC with 370cc injectors from a CA, resistors wired in of course. Tunning was done with my PLX Devices M300 wideband.

The car runs absolutely great, no bogging, stuttering, or hesitation of any kind. Infact it runs just like stock, other then the occasional backfire.14.7 in cruise/idle, 11.6-11.8 in boost.

This is my first attempt at turbocharging any motor, and I think it came out pretty decent.

Here is the car, pig nose chopped nicely for the front mount.

Here is the motor & turbo setup.

Here is the downpipe and exhaust, made completely from scratch. Both 3", no resonator. Sounds quiter then an NA with a 2.5" and resonator. Nice deep tone, absolutely no raspiness.

Here is the fancy cold pipe routing in order to avoid relocating the battery.

Here is the gauge pod and console. The gauge pod isn't pushed in entirely since I have to clean up some wiring behind it. Once fully in, it will be completely flush.

Now the neat thing is that the A/F Gauge is wired to show me my wideband signal.

Here is the wideband sensor, along with the converter that allows my A/F gauge to display the wideband signal.

I boxed in my rear lower control arms with 16 gauge sheet, much stiffer.

Some of you may remember the 18mm spacers I made a few months back. Here they are on the car. Open wheel racing anyone?

And finally, here is my TIG welder. Don't let the size fool you. It's a Miller Maxstar, 150A max, penetration good for 1/4" steel plate.

Very clean setup, it looks like you have done this before!. I bet that you are proud that you did most of the fabrication yourself, it makes it better doesnt it? =]

Looks good apart from the exhaust manifold.

That front wheel appears to have either zero camber or possibly positive camber. I'm gonna assume your car understeers.

How did you go about installing your oil pressure gauge?

Thanks for all the replies and kind words guys, much appreciated!

Nismo_Freak, my oil pressure gauge is electric, so it came with a sender unit. This sender unit has a 1/8" NPT male input so it threaded into a Tee, along with my turbo oil feed line. From that sender comes an 18 gauge wire that hooks up to the gauge for the purpose of sending the signal.

Haha, yes I suppose the manifold does look like lobster claws.

The manifold is made by Gladman. It's not ideal, however it does its job well.

Nice, Your exhaust manifold is kinda ugly but the rest looks good. engine bay is dirty! shame on you! And is that carbon buildup around where the exhaust comes out? is she smoking?

Nope, absolutely no smoking whatsoever. Just typical buildup from running an A/F of 11.8:1 in boost.

yeh! another SOHC-T! Maxx is right it's KAE-T time. Awesome IC piping and exhaust work and sweet hose clamps (super beefy!). Where is your BOV? Is it hidden? That idea about LCA reinforcement is great, I may have to steal it Also I need to liek reweld all of my frames under the front seats but that's another story. That TIG is so tiny it's almost cute. My friends is like half his house. Maybe he bought the wrong one, cuz it's also 130 or 150 amps. Also, 3 huzzahs for side mount manifolds. Best space solution on the KA in my opinion. Good luck and happy boosting.

Maxx that is one ghetto *** (but phat) strut bar. Lol.

looks like a vac source for boost gauge and BOV.

Correct. The white nylon line goes into the cabin for the boost gauge, where the black hose sends the vacuum signal for the bov a.k.a recirc. valve.

Speaking of which, here is the recirc. valve.

That pic where beefed up your rear lower control arm, is your subframe about to fall off? Looks like its hurtin.

Other than that it looks sweet to me.

Oh yeah, adjust in the slightest amount of negative camber in the front. It looks flush as ****, but I do think Nismo Freak made a good observation. It does look a little positive. At least set it at 0.

Haha. No, it just looks that way due to all the undercoating buildup. Up to 1/4" in most places!

2.25" for the Hot Pipe. 2.5" for the Cold Pipe.

I live in Ontario, Canada. Bit of a distance buddy.

Pretty much what I expected.

I know Autometer is well known for having some humungoid sending units with their stuff and I was wondering how you set it up.

I just landed a higher paying job so I think I'm gonna go with Japanese gauges to save the NPT vs. BSPT hassle. Although I do love the look of the Autometer Z-Series, and the affordability!

I had Defi's before on my S14, but damn ... you spend a grip for them but they are the best gauges I've ever dealt with.

Very true, the sender unit is very humungoid. I had to fiddle with the fittings for a little while before I got it to fit.
