OK, im having problems with my sohc s13. Ive posted on the online mechanic but havent seen any replies for a few days and im getting impatient!

OK, the car idles fine. But, from the tail pipe it smells of gas when running, so i assume its running rich. When i open up the throttle any, the car seems to hesitate a little, then it just seems gutless. The get up and go isnt there anymore, the car feels like its trying really hard but not going anywhere. I used to be able to give it very little gas pedal, not even half, and get some good speed. Now i have to put it to the floor just to get any speed out of it. When i first step on the gas, the car kind of bobs and hesitates, then will go, and each time i shift it happens as well. We put a fuel pressure gauge on the car, and its at 30psi idle, then when you open up the throttle, it goes down to about 26-27. I replaced the fuel pump in june, so i assume thats not the problem. We checked the filter on the pump and its not clogged either. The car doesnt smell of gas under the hood, and its not leaking anywhere. My question is, would this problem most likely be injectors? Is there a possibility it could be something else? How would i check to see if injectors are the problem, after searching i read something about them not closing right and flooding the cylinder could be causing my problem, and also making it run rich.

I would take it to the shop, but the guy at warren tire (my dad works there so its cheapest place to go) who does fuel systems is on vacation for the week.

One last thing, when starting up the car, it starts at about 300 rpms, and sputter and spit for like 2 seconds, then raises up to like 600rpms, then kind shoot up to the 1krpms that it normally runs at, and then idles fine. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. if you need more info, please ask

Sounds like a clogged catalytic convertor but there are other things that will do that too. Idle air controls, coolant temp sensor, O2 sensor, severe vaccuum leak. Injector issues are usually more subtle.
