SOHC guys, how did you remove your egr?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Im having the biggest problem trying to squeeze around the firewall to remove my egr.. any suggestions?.

plumbers pipe. big red one, cram it down there, with the hood off put a pipe on the end and turn the bugger.

Its actually a 24mm nut holding the tube onto the valve. There are also 3 10mm bolts holding the valve to the pedestal, and 3 more 10mm bolts holding the pedestal to the intake.

Other than that, you just gotta get sockets and extensions and floppy adaptors, and wrenches to get to them all. Unless you want to yank the whole intake manifold (not recommended).

that is what i figured.. the intake manifold will more than likely have to be removed, for easy acess to the egr.. blah, ill wait until i can afford new gaskets, and .. well, ill wait til i get a job

Well.. more pure air going into your intake.. as well as shaving weight.. lol.. im just trying to remove all my emissions.. my car wont pass anyways.. so theres no need for them.

Not likely, TORQUE isnt lost due to that.. actually, the Egr only opens at a certain vaccum anyways.. so.. if anything.. if you are about to burn out or whatever, you would probably gain a little torque.

if i remove egr, im will runing rich or lean???
