I'm about to install e-Manage Ultimate as part of my fuel system upgrade before i go turbo and i just have a question about two pinouts on the sohc ecu. I have allready looked ats fiz's post in the look here as well as a few others online which has left me wanting to double check these two pins.

I Have the Ignition Signal on Pin #1 and The RPM (Tach) Signal on Pin#2.

I just wanted to make sure that those two are right and that i use pin #1 and not 22,30,31,or 40 for the ignition control.

Ignition is #36, tach is #3.

If I am thinking of the pinout diagram I believe you looked at, that is for DOHC.

http://www.az240sx.org/tech/Pi...t.xlsThere is a pinout diagram for the SOHC engine.

http://carfiche.com/manuals017...0.zip^FSM for your car as well.

I'm not completely versed in the E-manage but you may need a tach signal converter as well. If I have a chance later I will go searching for the E-manage article I'm thinking of that was written for the SOHC engine.

if you do need the tach converter, you can buy one Here< for ~$27

Quote » recently changed my setup from SAFC2 to the emanage. The rpm reading on my laptop reads about 2x what the tach does. Sometimes it will show up right for a second. At idle, it shows about 1.5k and occasionally will drop to 750-800 and jump back up. I wasted an afternoon at the dyno shop and f'ed up my car because of this. I finally got the head back on and need to straighten this out before I try to tune this thing again. Do we need some kind of tach adapter for our cars? I don't think it's a problem with the wiring at the ecu, but I plan to go back and solder the connections just to be sure. The only other thing I changed when I installed the emanage was upgrading to a Z32 maf. I doubt it has anything to do with that. Anybody got any insight on this?

BTW: I have an s13 w/ KA24E
Quote »I had the same problem when I installed my emanage. I used the MSD tach adaptor along with a blaster SS coil and it cleared the problem up. Now my idle is rock solid and the EM reads correctly. It will cost you around seventy bucks but thats not much. I also have a KA24E BTW
yeah it was weird because two different pinouts were labeling 2 / 3 as the rpm and each one said the opposite of the other one. thanks for the info though.

i also plan on double checking the diagram im scribbling all over with a guy i know at the nissan dealership before i go to install everything. i guess it help when you live across the street from the dealership.
