hey my name is Billy I live in Ontario Canada. I race an s13 coupe at the local paved oval track and have recently picked up a fairly clean coupe chassis with a blown up sohc ka. I have a wrecked dohc hatch with a mint shape motor and I am thinking about swapping my dohc into my coupe. I changed sohc motors before but i do not know what is needed to put my dohc into my sohc coupe. I tried the search button but i could only find info on swapping an s14 ka. any help would be great and i am proud to have picked up the car and be part of the forum, also dont tell me to just switch to sr as it will not happen i am a poor highschool kid the sr will have to waite a few years.

thanks billy

Not necessarily do you have to change the tac, there is a free way, kinda ghetto but it works and with a little common mechanic knowledge you can do what I did:

I did the ka24e to ka24de swap and my tac didnt work. So what I did is I hardwired my tac and it works PERFECT! Your tac will be more accurate and responsive if you do as I did. First you need to Remove your gauge cluster. On the back of it, behind the tac there will be 3 groups of wires. You want the group all the to the right if you would be facing the cluster as it sits in your car regularly. The wire you are looking for is yellow/red, meaning its a yellow wire is a red stripe on it. CUT THAT WIRE so that you have about 5in of slack coming from the cluster. Then take a piece of wire (I used speaker wire) and splice them together. You will need about 5 feet of wire. Run the wire down below the dash and through the firewall. Now you need to splice the wire coming from the cluster to the coil. It will be the connector that is attached to the MAF wiring. It should be the wire on the left (of the two wires) if you are standing on the driver side fender looking at the motor. That should be all you need to do and your tac should work.

Tools I used are:1 Phillips screwdriver1 wirecutter1 roll of electrical tape

Good luck man, let me know if you need anymore info.
