Do the DOHC motors really get that much better gas mileage than the SOHC or is it just minimal. I've heard of people getting anywhere from 15mpg all the way up to 30mpg on the KA. What should I expect from my stock well taken care of SOHC. What about a well taken care of DOHC. Also are there any tips on getting better mpg. Btw, can't calculate on my car cause I'm working on it and I don't have my license.

My last tank of gas I averaged 23mpg with a dirty, somewhat clogged fuel filter, and redlining almost everywhere.... With the new filter I'm expecting 25-27mpg... Oh I was also using 91 Premium... 91 is the highest here in Kansas... blah!

Its not a good idea to run out of gas, its not good on your car. The way i record my mileage is fill up and reset mileage, drive it to about a quarter tank, record mileage, then when i get my receipt for my gas divide mileage/gallons it took to fill back up.
