Is it possible to take a SOHC KA24DE motor and frankenstien a DOHC head onto it. If so would it produce enough power to be worth the switch? I would assume so but any input or tips would be great.

It's possible, and I think someone did it before on this board but the big problem is the oil squirters on DOHC engines. Do a search, I think Brian explains this better.

its possible... it gives you 11:1 compression... But its eaiseri just to swap the entire engine and put 89 pistons in the dohc block... still 11:1 compression.. normal upgrades, i/h/e.. basic fuel upgrades with 91+ gas, add the "hot" cams, and a light weight pulley and flywheel and you have my exact project... im shooting for about 180hp

I'm sure it would be a lot easier but the thing is a already had my SOHC block bored and bigger pistons installed. I'm guessing that if i swapped the motor out completely, the DOHC with the stock pistons would have a little less power. I was hoping to make up the power i lost by not getting the dual and boring that one instead. Any advice?
