SOHC 240 alt. same as truck alt?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

as the title says... i have an extra alternator for my 240 and the alternator in my SOHC truck is going bad... is it a direct swap?

If you can manage to remove the v belt pulley from the truck alt and transfer to the 240sx alt it will be direct swap, only difference is the belt style.

You will probably need a puller to get them off, be careful not to distort or crack the pullies.

well removing the v-belt pulley was the easy part... but the 240sx alt is not the same as the truck alt. the upper mounting arm on the truck alt. is a bit longer and at a different angle than the 240 alt.

so if anyone in the future looks this info up.... you can't use the 240sx alt with the truck engine
