Wife just brought her 08 Altima sedan in for a tail light replacement (old one was leaking) and they said the car needed a 2 hour sofware update. Anybody know what is being updated? Does the transmission computer need tweeking? Has anybody has this done yet? Any differences after the update?

ive never heard of that. does she have the stock Nav system or something?

No nav. Its a 2.5S. I didn't know if it was an update to the CVT software for better fuel efficiency, or something like that.

did they try to charge you for it ?

it could have been the update for the airbag light recall ?

as long as it was free.
