OK, so I'm vain. I bought the 07 M35 Sport because the 19" wheels looked way cooler then the non-sport. My fanny now aches for a smoother ride.

So, one: What does anyone have to say on tires, which are due to be replaced (I've put 32,000 on the Potenza RE050A - 90% freeway in the warm rainy South). I've looked at the sticky - suggestions...?

Two: Any other ideas besides having the non-sport shocks/struts put in?

You performance guys probably hate reading my issue, but I live in my M each day, and love it (sore backside excluded).

A higher aspect ratio tire with softer sidewalls will make the ride a bit less harsh on the road.

So, you might consider selling the wheels and replacing with the stock OEM 18" wheels - plenty of people wanting to go the other way! Then a 245/45-18 touring summer tire, with a load index of around 95, will give you a less harsh ride.

Reducing tire pressure is another way, but too low would be unsafe. So, you could also consider going to 33 psi, but checking it often (once a week at least) to make sure it does not drop too low.

That would also help, but I think that changing the wheels and tires will be more effective.

Hello I had a same issue and ended up putting a wider width Yokohama S drive on it wich is 255/40 - 19 and it is much better now.

There's no magic answer here unfortunately. Everything you change will help a little, but you need to change a lot to get back to the standard M suspension:

Tires/wheelsStrutsSpringsanti-roll bars (maybe, not sure if the Sport ones are larger/stiffer)

I made the same choice you did (2006 M35 Sport) and I share your reservations. It's occasionally too hard but most of the time it's brilliant. I'd say Infiniti did a great job of tuning it to provide an acceptable ride while still preserving the quick-turning nature a Sports sedan needs.

Try some 255/40's on your 19's first and see where that gets you. Ultimately, you may have to go back to 18's with a taller sidewall to get the ride you're after - or trade for a non-Sport to get the softer suspension.

I thought the roads were good in the South? You should see how an M Sport likes the roads of Manhattan - ouch !!!
