im a noob when it comes to clutches. it all looks pretty easy but i just cant figure it out.ok here is my problem.my clutch is really soft and grip force is low.at first my mechanic said there were bubbles in my clutch assembly, so i bleed it, sure enough there were some bubbles. but its still the same. soft and no grip.then my mechanic said there were MORE bubbles in it and need to be sucked out using an air compressor?? is that true?is my throw out bearing out?thanks.

How old is the clutch? If it is original, I might think about replacing it if further bleeding or master/slave testing does not solve the problem.

And yes, there are tools that allow you to pressurize or pull vacuum on a hydralic line to purge it.

also remember to blead the dampener box(follow the lines lil box with a loop coimgn out) Alot of people complain about this being a pita to bleed and some go as far as to remove it(bend the input hose carefully with out kinking to the line the output connects to. I know there a few post about it but I couldnt tell you exactly what to search for maby stuff like clutch dampener or clutch loop ,bleeding slave, bleading clutch...or some one else might chime in with more...

when you say soft, what are you comparing it to? The pedal in my 240 is the lightest clutch i've ever had in a car before...

Once upon a time, my clutch master cylinder ran out of hydraulic fluid, and I got air in the system. I can tell you, it is a pain to get all of the air out of the dampener. I spent an hour in a parking lot bleeding the stupid thing before I got all the air out. Since then, I invested in a stainless steel clutch line (a whopping $30) and eliminated that stupid box.

My money says you still have air in your clutch lines. If you want someone to pull a vacuum on it, just take it to any brake place and ask them to do it. Takes about 2 minutes with the right equipment.
