So, I recently did a 5-speed swap and I used Nabco master and slave cylinders, SS line, no clutch damper, and the stock hardline. Problem is that no matter how much I bleed this thing the only pedal resistance is the spring on the pedal itself. There is full travel on the slave cylinder and it engages/disengages fine, but the pedal is so soft compared to my Sentra and I feel like its not right. I did some searching and some people say that they just deal with it being soft, but others say it could be the pressure plate. I bought my clutch kit from a local auto parts store... so nothing fancy. Any ideas?

If the hydraulics are working properly, than that's the only thing that has any resistance is the pressure plate. Also you are comparing apples to oranges, because I have an ser 200sx and unless you have a very new sentra, cable to hydro are different fealings.

I'm comparing it to my 2006 Nissan Sentra. Thanks for the info, guess I won't cheap out on my next clutch kit... The only thing that bugs me is that I remember reading a thread on here about a guy with a Exedy clutch kit, but had the same problem. Thing is I'm not sure about the cylinders, lines, or damper he was using.

What slave are you using? I have the nismo slave and it makes my act xtreme pressure plate almost feel stock. Oh and 06 sentras are hydro aren't they?

there is no return spring on the clutch pedal, any return is done by the clutch pressure plate. If you have ever had your clutch master or slave go out the pedal goes to the floor, and wont return on its own. chances are you just have an el cheepo pressure plate and it offers no resistance.

my clutch is softer now than it was with a stcock replacment clutch. ive never been able to figure out what the problem is and im now looking for a new set up.

my current set up is fidanza light weight fly, spec stage 3 six puck, stock replacement slave, nabico master and SS clutch line with no dampener.

ive called spec to ask them about it and they said they designed it to be light for city traffic but still have the clamping force for high HP & high RPM. i also asked if a nismo slave would be of any benifit and they said it would be over kill and not worth getting it. a nismo slave is made for high pressure plates not what i have. they only suggestion they could give me was to buy just the pressure plate off one of the higher clutches like a stage 4 or 5 but if i did that and the pedal was to hard then i would need to get the nismo slave and it might make it feel soft again.
