You can try bleeding out all the old brake fluid and put in some new brake fluid in there to see if it'll solve the issue.

As for your clutch pedal...you can adjust it by turning a nut inside the ****pit where the clutch pedal assembly is connected to the clutch master cylinder I believe. I think the 240sx faq has everything you need for the adjustment. I have mine adjusted pretty high so I can feather my clutch when launching.

Make sure to leave some "free play" with the clutch pedal. Or else your clutch will be cookin.

too much slack or not enough slack is bad for the clutch.if you don't have enough slack, then your clutch will "drag" and can burn and wear out alot faster.if you have too much free play, then when you step on the clutch all the way, your clutch won't engage fully which wears the clutch too , by not engaging completely and slipping.remember, the less free travel means the more the clutch is worn!!! the more the clutch wears, the closer the pressure plate is to the flywheel causing the clutch travel freeplay to be less and less.

well the brakes were bled professionally when my car was in the shop so i have no doubt that it's in perfect condition, but it just has alot of travel...my friend recommended that i get a larger master cylinder
