SoCal Roadtrip- Visit with GQ Jay

I just got back from a 10 day roadtrip with the wife to visit family in San Diego (Fallbrook) and Manhattan Beach (L.A.), a 1200 mile round trip from Sacramento. I drove my 90Q with 223,000 miles and she ran flawlessly. About 900 of the miles were freeway driving and she averaged 22 mpg driving at speeds from 75 to 90 mph with a few spurts past 100mph on I-5 through the Central Valley. BTW- She's for sale in the Infiniti Car Classifieds.

On the way back to L.A. fron San Diego I made arrangements to meet with Jay Starlit (GQ Jay) in Huntington Beach. Jay lives less than a mile from the coast so we spent a very enjoyable hour or so at the beach walking along the shore while we waited for Jay to get home from work. It was a very pretty place with wide sandy beaches.

We met Jay at his home and drove each other's cars. Jay's Q is a fully functional 94 with active suspension. It drove and handled great and the active made for an extremely smooth ride. I'm glad I got to drive it and I now undersand what all the hoopla is with the A. Jay has taken very good care of his car.

Jay drove my 90 and I think he was impressed with the power in the 1st gear start. He dusted a Lamborghini Diablo (or Countach?) off the line at a green light turning onto PCH although I think the Lambo driver may have been talking on his cell when the light changed. Oh well.

I enjoyed my visit with Jay, he's a real gentleman and fun to talk with. I've included a pic below of our Q's, mine with her b*tt ugly face and Jay's with the pretty shoes. Thanks Jay.
