I too fail to see the point at going to Super Autobac's...my point of meeting up is to see my fellow members' rides and take a cruise in a line of sexy G's.Sentientbydesign wrote:We could go to super autobac's, but I don't entirely see the point. Not trying to be rude. I spend a large portion of the week looking at parts, I was hoping our meet would be for driving and checking out each other's rides.
If anybody else feels different, please chime in. Any other location suggestions are also welcome. This IS NOT a dictatorship. Democracy reigns.

I was going to suggest the 74 as well...but I felt it was too far south for some of the other members.BigWill wrote:I'm not going to be able to be there, but I do have a suggestion... Why don't you all take a drive up the Ortega Hwy, over to the Elsinore side? Lots of great twisty road, and nice scenery... not to mention good restaurants to be had on both sides of Saddleback.
It's kinda far to the south, but a great drive.

We need to check with Yerv. He and Serg are coming from Glendale.grantman240z wrote:

It was cool...I got there at 6:00 and Nathaniel didn't roll around until 7:30ish! Bastard! Then he dragged us all to this diner where he and his wife ate...then we drove. I had to leave the cruise early since I had plans at 9:00.chonmoreno wrote:Hey guys so how did it go? Hey Nathaniel im sorry i couldn't make it... i spent my whole saturday in traffic school and at the same time i was getting over a cold, so i was drained by the afternoon. It'd be nice to see some pix tho.
Haha, I was just giving you a hard time man...I thoroughly enjoyed my nap! I also got my passenger seat release switch for the rear passengers fixed while I waited.Sentientbydesign wrote:Hey Hey Hey!!!
I was busy trying to get a new member there since he didn't know how to get there.
Plus it was more like 6:45, not 7:30.
Let's put the day into perspective. I woke up around 7. I packed 13 7'x2' corogated plastic signs and 13 aluminum tripods into my G plus a case of water and some uniforms.
I drove around from 10:30 until 4:30 supervising and putting 100 miles on my car. I rushed home, got all that **** out of my car, got John's CF lip, then drove to Riverside to pick up my wife, then drove to Tustin to find Tom and Amanda. Tom and I misscommunicated and I waited about 10 mins for him to get to me. Then he wanted to wash his car which took another 5 mins, then we drove down to find you guys.
I would have been there just after 6:00 had there not been hiccups along the way.
Also, nobody dragged you to the diner. Anybody could have said no. Let's go drive.
I personally thought everybody would have liked to talk with each other a little before going out and driving. Especially since our drive consisted of me in the lead which was like waiting for my 50+ y/o in-laws to follow me on a road trip.
Next meet, if there is one, I wanna hear what everybody wants EXACTLY!. I'm thinking a track or drag meet might be more appropriate so we don't go 90 in 40 zones again.

Yeah, it was Kenrik's replica. Most of the problem comes from the paint color absorbing all the light (see: heat)...he painted a DG one with no problems. They are using some different type of primer that does some crazy sealing...almost like making its own new layer of urethane. We will see how it goes, they are treating me very well and guarantee the paint as long as I have the spoiler.Sentientbydesign wrote:Is it one of those replica spoilers?
I was a little concerned about the idea of painting over urethane, but I stayed quiet.
I don't know dude. Crytal drives that Celica like nobody's business. I kind of wish it was the GT-S instead of just the GT, then it would peak out at around 200 HP with the extra valve lift.grantman240z wrote:My girlfriend's PT Cruiser will take the Celica and Corolla S to lunch! ...I call it the great blue wall.
I'm just playing with ya. Yerv is who I'm really still wondering about. I know he hasn't been on lately, but it's curious that he would drive 100+ miles for 15 mins of driving and then head home.grantman240z wrote:I hope you don't think I am a flake...I had plans that I made earlier in the day for 9:00 so I had to get home to get ready! I felt bad leaving the drive early.
