Tirerack has both in stock for my buddies car but I couldn't tell him the difference. They are essentially the price, are the S02's sticker. Which is better in the rain?

Also, is it worth the extra 200 bucks for the Michelin Pilots, I was recommending the S03 since they worked out great on my Z car.

Thanks in advance, this is for a Porche Boxster.

I'd say get the S03's. They'll last longer (should) than the Michelins and are supposed to be better than S02's. I had S03's and loved the crap out of them.

Oooh, wait...S03's aren't Porsche approved ("N" rated), but S02's are. So are the Pilot Sports. I know it doesn't mean diddly squat in the real world, but dealerships like Porsche dealerships would probably do something stupid like void his entire drivetrain warranty b/c he went with a non n-rated tire. :rolleyes Anyway, just something to think about.

the s-03 and pilot sport get lots of similar reviews and even track times, I myself find the following true:-pilot sports will wear a bit better(long term), and ride better.-the s-03 will handle better for a longer period of time

its give and take. I wouldnt hesitate to slap a set of s-03 on though...and I havent on many 911 and 911 turbos I've done.-chet

Well since his warranty is long gone it will not matter if they are S02 or S03, so given all equal are the S03's an improvement on the S02's?
