No absolutely not. You should never replace the lines at all, just wait for the old ones to burst and replace the motor... lots more fun that way.

Hey guys.... yes, steel braided lines are fine. Just watch out running them next to the turbo or exhaust due to heat.
RPS13... Take a look at
http://www.summitracing.com to figure out how much all the braided hose will be.
YamaOni -- good advice. Also not a bad time to replace the water pump and timing belt. Much, much, easier when the engine is out!
Only guess at "cut rear cover" is a heat issue. Lower heat... longer life for electronics.
