Okay, I have a spare valve cover sitting around. I figured I would make use of it and actually be helpful around here for once...
Things you will need:Paint. Preferable engine enamel or something high temp.Masking tape.Paper towels/shop towels.800 grit wet sand paper.hose.Paint stripper. (If theres existing paint on there, like the SOHC covers.)Gloves. You don't want the paint stripper on your hands; it burns!De-greaser.Mt Dew/Beer/Alcohol
Step 1: Remove the valve cover. I didn't do this because it was already off. I'm not gonna hold your hand the whoooole way.
Step 2: Clean the valve cover with the de-greaser.
Step 3: Grab your paint stipper and go to town. Be careful not to get any of it on your hands or skin. It BURNS.
Let the paint stripper sit on there for a while until this happens.
Step 4: Start wiping off the stripper, and paint with your paper towels. To get all of it off, you'll need to use your hose too.
Step 5: Now, you've probably missed a couple of spots with the stripper, so go back over it and make sure ALL of the existing paint is off. Repeat step 4.
Step 6: Grab your sand paper and your hose and start wet sanding everything. You want to make it nice and smooth.
If you did it right, it will look like this. SHINY.
Step 7: Mask off your oil cap hole with masking tape.
Step 8: Paint.
Step 9: Re-install.
Step 10: Be awesome.
Enjoy this moment, Nico, I helped.
