I've already used the search button....so yeah lol. just another noobie with another set of basic questions so lets begin

okay first thing first....I have a 1995 240SX base model. S14, Zenki, automatic, almost completely stock. no wing, no sunroof. salvage because its on its 3rd KA24DE, retards before me were uber cool mad tyte drift kidz and blew em up...3rd engine is fresh...

1. Exterior Looks/Cosmetic Physical Appearance

I plan on making this car a complete non cop magnet car. so not going to do anything though I have one big issue is the headlights looks like yellow teeth seriously nasty. the headlights are so blurry

so i did some searching found these
http://www.enjukuracing.com/circuit-spo ... -9891.html

from what i read, these arent a "direct" fit so i have to do some fitment via my oven? are there any other techniques to have a crystal clear headlight besides the glass ones? man why didnt nissan make em glass in the beginning, my 89 corolla headlights are glass...-_-

and the only issue, $165 for a plastic headlight cover? i thought $165 would cover the entire assembly/harness/wiring. if theres any cheaper alternative to give my silvia (not rly lol) but yea to give her a crystal clear vision again? she has glaucoma at the moment <_<

2. Muffler/Exhaust System
my muffler is messed up. (aftermarket ricer kids), they cut the resonator off and put some 4 in straight pipe and some turbo muffler. it is ungodly loud.....I was wondering if I could put 2 resonators just after the cat in a Y formation and put a silent muffler at the end and add a "resonator/muffler" tip? can anyone here recommend me some brands online? either put 2 resonators or 1 long one, either/or is fine... and im not too sure if a exhaust tip will change it much, i want it to sound stock or even quieter than stock. as of now, ive never heard a stock s14, mine for one is loud as hell.

looking for
a) silent/quiet resonator (will go to the lengths of welding 2 to make it quiet)
b) silent/quiet muffler
c) silent/quiet exhaust tips

throw me some names and ill search em up

3. Handling/Suspension Mods
I dont like drifting at all...when i have the funds in the future i want to make my s14 for grip/cornering/handling. so no LSD/welded diffs for me, what do you recommend me to do? i want to be able to take corners at higher speeds than i did in my FWD econobox. and tune the suspension so that its pretty stiff and doesnt lean/roll that much. bucket seats, harness will be in order, new steering wheel...strut tower, sway bars, tie rods, the works

4. Engine/Performance Mods?
So, should I opt for a CAI? this car is an automatic not sure if this changes anything, if anything, i'd like to mod it to get some more torque, dont really care for horsepower, just all about torque...what should i do short of a supercharger/turbo/engine swap?

i've seen some youtube vids of them dropping an LS1 engine into a S14, i'd do that when i have the funds.

5. Wheels
It's sitting on stock 15in ugly steel wheels at the moment, got em lookin pretty with wheel covers from walmart, so yeah would 19s alloy/silver give it a clean stock/OEM look? should i pick wheels that would be geared for performance not just looks?

So yeah basically gonna daily drive this car, going the speed limit and going grocery shopping/school, not gonna abuse it, im babying it at the moment lol, garaged, fluids all checked out. Though I'd like to hop on the handling/suspension mods ASAP so i can take a drive out to the mountains and enjoy the curves. dont really care too much for horsepower, just want more torque. A lot.

Thanks guys...

Vid for your time. (dream build for me)

Still too loud lol
But not sure how much quieter would it be if I put 2 resonators on it after the cat, i literally want it so quiet you hear the engine more

You can try a headlight repair kit first.

You can quiet any exhaust system if you cut 12 inched out of it and put in a 12inch glass pack, mellows it right out

Suspension depends on how you use the car. But make sure its in good shape first (ball joints, ends, bushings). Good coilovers (rate depends on your use), good tension rods, good tie rod ends, and good sway bars. Check out Sikky, Whiteline, ST, Ikeya formula, yomato garage, Powered by max and SPL parts. But make sure the suspension is in good shape first.

Your car is boost friendly, just search it, and for about 300-600 bucks you can swap a 5 speed in it.

Wheels, you gotta find what you like

would it sound quieter than stock?

yeah ill go check it out, its salvage because it was involved in a serious front end accident but its been restored by a auto shop. lot of work put into it

im assuming this is parts alone not even labor. i was thinking even boosted it wouldn't put down any good numbers either an LS2/LS7 engine swap. go big or go home haha

and idk if possible put a dual overdrive in it so it wouldnt suck up gas like mad

Wheels, you gotta find what you like
ill see
Bolded

also.......i just noticed your car has what i wanted haha :naughty:

i started off with your setup but worse lol.
if you want a quiet exhaust that still sounds decent just opt for the oem one. it isnt THAT bad sounding and is pretty quiet.

also, go ahead and do the 5-speed swap. you not only lose weight from the swap but it makes it a hella faster. the swap isnt too hard (i used a project car magazine as a guideline!)

and just go to a harbor freight or pep boys and get a headlight restoration kit. all it consists of is a polishing ball and some like lotion stuff and it works really well. mine are yellow as crap and the mexi that had it before the guy who i bought it from had tried to make fake "projectors" and "eyebrows" with carbon fiber sticker...so just get the restoration kit. and i heard those covers are hard to install.

good luck with your project!

The 3M headlight restoration kit is the s*** took my zenki's from yellow to new in ten min per light!! and as far as silent exhaust there is only one you need! I JDM HKS super silent Hi-power you can get it online thru tougefactory. best sounding setup I've ever heard.

jeez it looks like a fart cannon, does it come in flat black at least? I was thinking of going the route of getting Walker Quietflow exhaust. I already have a walker its super silent

im probably the least ricer guy you'll ever meet. never got into drifting/fast and the furious/ hellaflush etc. only engine swap i would consider is a V8 lol

i used to be into trucks until i realized how much gas it sucked up, compared to my explorer the silvia and corolla gets way better gas mileage

heres the exact walker muffler i have currently on my car(s)

one more bump, dont have to answer everything just pick whatever, sry im being annoying but geez i been a member since august, of course ive been using the search button. browsing, reading and lurking rather than posting lol

Fog lights
1. Anyone here have a preferred fog light? I'd like one thats "daylight/white" i wont bother with the blue yellow purple hazy stuff lol, is it pretty easy to hook up? ground somewhere in the engine bay, hook to car battery, then run thru firewal and have a switch in the car?

Steering Wheel
2. I live in the city, so I park my precious Silvia (not SR20 RHD but w/e lol) outdoors....I get paranoid sometimes. I think a detachable steering wheel would deter theft by a lot. whats some good aftermarket "quick disconnect" steering wheels out there? which one do you like? does it stiffen up/more responsive/smoother steering/handling? would i have to worry about it coming off while driving? how easy is it to set up? any input would be great!

Muffler
3. For the KA24DE engine, the pipe diameters should be no more than 2.5in am i correct (no backpressure), well the problem is that the "drift kid" before me cut off the resonator and put some turbo muffle/straight pipes on it so it sounds extremely loud, I was thinking of getting a Walker Quiet Flow muffler, what resonator would you recommend? and if it doesnt quiet down enough does it matter what kind of resonator/exhaust tips do i put on it to further quiet it? (i hate being a cop magnet)

Suspension/Handling
4. I'm probably the least ricer guy you'll ever meet, so guess what, i hate drifting, but i like enhancing the car's ability to hit corner at high speeds without spinning out or losing grip (aka drifting), what kinda mods do i do? if i tighten up the front end steering would be more perky/responsive right? or am i better off equally doing the rear/front of the car. (sway bars, tie rods, coilovers the works etc) is there site out there that explain a car's geometry/handling characteristics if you do such and such mods to it?

Engine / Increasing Torque

5. The fastest I'll ever drive in this car would be like 80 at most so dont really care about HP or top end power, but are there any ways short of an engine swap/TC/SC to increase the 0-60mph time?

1. Euro S14 headlights (not just the glass).
2.BRM Exhaust
3.Don't see anything that I need to say. Just don't get cheap parts.
4. 5-speed swap would be the first thing I would do before any engine mods. Unless you like automatic..
5. 19's are pretty big. I would go with 18's.. Width should be 9" to 9.5" IMO.

Just some suggestions. Good luck with your car. :)

What do you even plan to do with this car? And changing the size of the muffler is not going to lead to any increase of power...you need to upgrade the whole exhaust, and yes stick with 2.5" if you are staying naturally aspirated. You need to swap the automatic out for a 5 speed if you plan on doing any grip/cornering/autocross events like you said, and no...a CAI will not make any difference. You said you don't want your car to be a cop magnet, well then forget the LS1 swap, forget anything with a turbo, etc....your car is not going to be as quiet as stock when it has power like that. I'm not trying to flame but it seems like you want this car to be stock looking and stock performance, so leave it how it is.

Drifting is not rice. Adding an exhaust to a car is not rice, adding a pep boys muffler is. Having a loud car is not rice, either. If you are thinking of swapping in an LS1, or any turbo motor like you said, it's not gonna be quiet anymore. And you also plan on never going over 80 mph..? I honestly think that you should just keep this car stock, and maybe swap it to 5 speed, and build up the suspension. You don't seem like you have any desire/need for power.

The HKS Hi-Power is not a fart cannon...it's a normal N1 exhaust that sounds great. This exhaust seems to meet your taste...although I'm not sure if they make it for an S14.
