I finally went and picked it up the other day. I have to say it's pretty fun. I still suck at the drums but the guitar was freakin easy. I already 5 starred Green Grass and High Tides on Expert LOL. I'm looking to get more of the achivements so we need to get together and start a band!

I fvckin' HATE Green Grass and High Tides. Freaking long *** bullsh1t song.

But, I love to play anything with a fake guitar and 5 colored buttons on it.

My favorite thing to do is tape the mic to something (since I don't have a mic stand) and play guitar and sing at the same time. I've managed a double 100% Dani California on Medium, but I end up embellishing too much for the game to give me a good score on hard levels (singing that is) It wants you to sound identical to the original at the hard/expert levels. Which I hate.

I suck the most at drums.

The game is really best enjoyed with a full band, though. I can't get into it solo like I can guitar hero.

After playing it at a friends house, I picked up the set along with an extra guitar for my GF's b-day. I've pretty much stopped playing everything else for the time being as we've been trying to unlock stuff. I've been playing the drums mostly. I can do medium on most songs, but have been reluctant to step up to hard as some of the harder medium songs are crazy hard.

Yeah I've really only tried the Guitar and drums. I suck too bad at singing to want to give that any sustained effort. One thing I've noticed is that the Guitar Hero guitar is leaps and bounds better than the Rock Band guitar. The flapper thingy for Rock Band is mushy and it's hard to get really accurate with the really fast sections so I've since switched back to using the Guitar Hero controller. The hammer ons and pull offs really irritate me in this game. They are retarded easy compared to GH3 and yet suck horribly at them. I think it's because GH3 is geared more towards "Shredding" (on a plastic guitar LOLZ) with a lot of notes with less accuracy whereas Rock Band want's dead accuracy with less notes. Takes some getting used to. I need to get the achievements for Bass now.

The drums actually sound kinda fun, but I was never really a fan of guitar hero, so the rest sounds lame.

They play really differently. I'd advise you to at least give Rock Band a shot. And Rock Band simply sounds AMAZING on a home theater system.

Hey Ryon which do you like better as a single player, Guitar Hero 3 or Rock Band? I recently borrowed GH3 form a friend and the game is addicting, but I want to play RB but I dont want to spend 180 for it. I also cant seem to find it anywhere to rent it.

Definitely Guitar Hero. It's more challenging than Rock Band which is what single player is all about IMO. Rock Band is pretty easy in comparison and it really won't occupy you on it's own for very long. I find Rock Band refreshing only because each instrument that you play brings basically another game to the table and a lot of different challenges. It's OK fromt that standpoint but what really makes it fun is getting together with a group of friends that kick *** and a group that sucksass to make fun of.

All 3 of my brothers play GH's and Rockband. They're all really good. Personally I think the games are interesting but definitely not for me.

I gave up on Rock Band. I've gone through 3 defective guitars and now EA is in the process of refunding my money for all the add on songs that I was unable to play due to the suckiness of the guitar. I'm going to look into an aftermarket guitar or just wait for Guitar Hero 4 (which will have full band play like Rock Band, but better).

Yeah the Rock Band guitar is trash. I've been playing with my Guitar Hero Guitar since day 1.

I would hook you up with Rock Band.. I get it for about $120, but after shipping costs and what-not, it would probably be almost the same as retail hehe.

/my useless post.
