How was it? I couldn't go to the one at my dealership due to transportation.

I stopped by. It was lame. Nothing to report, just another day at the dealership, but they had some food. I had a jones soda and that's about it. They had some chicken and shrimp skewers.

They had a video playing some of the booklets you've seen posted. Nothing big. I was hoping for some Infiniti reps to answer and bs with, but alas there were none.

A salesman said he 'thought' I was getting one of the first 2 cars, but who knows if that'll stick. So here's hoping I'll get mine next week, i might get stuck with 4WS.

My dealership is actually having the G37 party Saturday, August 18th from about 12 - 3. Its going to be more family oriented with a Jolly Jump for the kids, and some of our vendors. If anyone is out in the Oxnard / Ventura County Area feel free to stop by.

the salesman will be looking at you like, look at this spoiled punk. getting a G37 for his/her first car.
Ummm... if you looked at my profile, I am old enough to drive. My mom has been using the car I'm currently driving (Lexus GS350) to use for driving around in LA (she wouldn't drive her Mercedes S-class for doing errands). How is it going to feel when I go to the dealership waiting for my car? Umm... exciting. Although, my good friend Chris Reddick and Riverside Infiniti (I've known him for quite some time now) is going to be delivering it to me.

Please don't judge me because I'm 17 and getting a G37. Please don't call me a "punk" because umm... I don't even know who you are. You just come in here judging me because 1. I'm 17 2. I'm getting a G37? You didn't even get that I'm able to drive by myself and you go about calling me a punk? I wonder what logic you're using to come up with that decision. Is there jealousy at all because I am getting a car like this for my first car? Please keep those feelings to yourself because I certainly don't want to see them.

Don't mind Biada, Yimbie. You know how the internet is with all kinds of "illusions".

Of course, what goes around comes around so Biada will probably be dissed the same way on some other forum if the whole internet thing takes off.

Our preview event was very nice. Classy with lots of great food and drinks and many people. The good thing about having so many people is that the car got A LOT of attention. At least all the G37's were happy to get all the attention on Aug. 16th.

I think the G37 at our dealer actually winked at me as I left with a big, beautiful smile hehe.

I think he/she's just a little upset/jealous that they (like me) drove a 4 cylinder dodge beater when we were 16/17 and nothing close to a G37. And shows like sweet 16 makes the regular folks even more annoyed.

In the end, I always said, if I'm going to be rich, I better get born to rich parents... :-)

Hey, Yimbie,

I'm glad that guy and his asinine comments aren't getting to you. I think his motivation is simply jealousy. Thanks for all the work you do to manage this board.

Oh no problem KinsmanRedeemer. I plan to stay here for a long time and help out with any issues (that is as much as I can... I'm not that great on all the modifications and technical issues) and keep this forum in shape.

I had a great time. Valet parking started at 5:00, food was great...of course I was in a good frame of mind staring at the Red G37 Sport sitting in the showroom. I ended up talking to the owner for about 30 mins, who is in the process of pulling together a G37 Race Car (NASCAR Grand Am series). We talked performance mods for some time, and interestingly, my G37 6MT will be coming with a Stillen cold air intake when I take delivery, of course it wasn't free, but I like to be different. Also ordered the cat-back exhaust system, which will be installed in a week or so. At the end of the party, the owner introduced me to the driver of the "to be built" G37 racer. Great guy and very knowledgable. I must say, coming from a long line of Ford cars/trucks....I am very happy with the whole experience. Ended up swithing my deposit to a black on black 6MT after seeing some pics on this site (from a platinum graphite/stone 6MT). Car is at the dealer, and picking up tomorrow, and very much looking forward to it. Will share pics of the stillen cold air intake when I can pry myself from the driver's seat!

So the dealer is installing the intake and the cat back for you? I know stillen has the K&N intakes available for $399 on their site, but I can't find the cat back anywhere. Is it from stillen or another maker. Were you able to get some HP figures from the dealer? I'm interested to see if just an intake and a cat back can bring up the torque a bit. Anway, let us know how things go tomorrow when you pick up your car.

siddo - Asked the dealer, and yes, it is stillen who makes the cat back exhaust. Looks like 2 to 3 weeks to get it in, but it is on order. According to the performance parts manager, he is saying 10 to 11 rwhp for the stillen intake, and about the same for the cat-back system. Combining the two, since you'll be moving more air in and out, is around 25 to 30, again according to the dealership. My thought is that it would be closer to 15 to 20 in total with the two mods at the rear wheels. He didn't have any torque numbers, but 7 to 10 wouldn't be out of the question. I put about 50 miles on 'er today, and it is definately a nice ride. Not an overabundance of torque in the low RPMs, but above 3k, that 3.7 comes alive. Headers and supercharger will complete the package (I believe Vortec is 6 months away from a revised supercharger to fit the 3.7), and I understand it doesn't require a hood modification. I'll post some pics tomorrow...she's resting from her first day on the job.

Modfever,

First of all, congrats! Mine is still 10 days away. Anyway, thank for the info. Please keep us posted about the cat back. I'd like to hear if there is a significant "seat of the pants" difference. So do you have the intake in it now? How does it sound?

Sid
