So where does everyone go to drift?

Nissan dominates the drift scene - Always has, always will.

just curious where you guys have found is good for drifting without attracting to much attention, or without having to spend a wad of cash to get some track time.

lucky for me, theres a nice lakeside road not far from where i live...that and texas motor speedway's parking lot is gigantic, as well as deserted at night time :D

anyone local in the DFW area?

Can you go out to TMS parking lot at night legally? If so when I (if) I pick up an s13 soon, I'd like to go out with you. TMS is in my back yard, i'm less than 5 minutes away...

I usually spend the day scoping new industrial complexes and back roads in the country, then night time ripping them up. I have a few regular spots, but mostly hit and run type places, never staying more than 20 minutes or so. Ill scope it out the first night, make sure its mellow, then hit it the second night.

Thought i'd bug you with that question, haha..

I went out there one night with a friend and within 5 minutes this security guard told us to leave or he'd call the cops...My friend was taking pictures, so I haven't been back in a long time.

i<3drifting: you should stay out of school parking lots...very bad places to drift. Cops patrol past schools fairly regularly, looking for vandals, and they will catch you. A friend of mine was caught in an elementary school parking lot, and they arrested him on trespassing and wreckless driving charges.

oh, and about your sig....raise the stock higher in your shoulder, tuck your right elbow in tight, and take that sling off.

Down her in FLorida there has been a bunch of subdivisions being built. Cleared land, 2 lane wide-road, noone to call cops, and if you run off you run into sand, and being it's a subdivision a bunch of turns. Had one place that i did this for about 4months. Rain kept delaying their progress and i think the company had some financial trouble.

My friends and I goto a few places, a local spot behind a Toys R' Us and a Circuit City; and a 4 way crossroad intersection 10 miles or so out of town. Luckily the cops don't pass by the Toys R' Us that often, we normally just do a 10 min session and then bolt out. The other spot we tear up for hours on the weekends, nobody is out there, kinda dangerous with the 4 foot deep ditches that surround it, but oh well.

im new to texas (DFW area: Trophy Club) and want to start drifting soon. the only practice i had was driving my automatic silvia s-13 sr20de in japan at a shipping dock with a wide open space and a smooth surface. the only mod i had was front struts/springs i bought for $30, but i moved soon after

i drive a '93 s-13 automatic (i know auto isnt the best setup for drift, but i think i can make it work) with struts/springs, strut bars, intake and exhaust.. so far.

I drift in a high school parking lot, only when wet of course. It's quieter in the rain, and much more forgiving on the car.

i drove by the texas motor speedway tonight at 10:30 and it did look like a great place to drift, huge flat lots, plus it rained. but the parking lot had like 4 or 5 nice cars parked there... anyways i didnt see any one there at all, totally deserted, which is hard to believe. there has to be cops or parking police somewhere nearby!?

i might have to stop by tomarrow if it rains again (hey im a noob, and i want good low speed practice plus its only 5 mins away!), prolly not until 11pm just to be safe. i have a feeling a car spinning around an empty lot would be pretty noticeable from the nearby 114... i guess ill have to practice with my lights off. eek.

I go to some local parking lots for practice. Home depot in particular is an enormous lot with both a big open space and lots of driveways/layout so as to almost function as a small circuit track. I was there last night, actually.

As for touge, the road I go to is an extremely well kept secret. I was given a vague idea of where it was and it still took me 2 days of driving the area to find it. I have never seen a cop on it, and I doubt I ever will.

I've got a local industrial park to myself every night after around 8. And if the police do come around, they just tell us not to run into anything and to be safe and have fun. Only dealt with 1 annoying cop in the past year. And to think of it, haven't really dealt with many at all. They drive by and wave sometimes, its quite the interesting. Well the fact that im in a HUGE parking lot, and that my father is in charge of all personnel for baltimore county police...they don't give me any crap if they value their jobs.

I only drive my friends sylvias. SO THIS COP SHOWS UP OUT OF NO WHERE AND TAKES MY VIDEO AWAY ( WHICH BY THE WAY WAS AN AWESOME VIDEO OF DRIFT FOOTAGE) AND THEN WROTE US ALL CITATIONS. now im pissed (it just happpened like 2 days ago) ohh well i guess i need to find a new spot. lolHope u never get caught.. take care and watch out for pigs once i get my tape back at court i will post videos and pics of that night

well there is this one AMMISH market and it is only open on friday nights and saturday nights.. We went there a lot and never got any complaints till just a lil while ago.. well i usually go to the street races in philadelphia and drift in parking lots neer the races so that when the cops come we just run like we would if we were watching or racing. Well i have this other place in mind.. if i were to go to this industrial park i think that no one would bother me.. i have seen some other guys doing lots of donuts before (during the day) so i guess it will be okay to drift there too. When i get my video back at court of teh night at the ammish place i will post pics on the net and let u know

We drift in sub divisions being built. No big curbs to rip suspension off and new pavement. I also like to drift on the indiana/michigan state line. Cops don't mess with me because they are no where to be found. Also many banked turns and many 90s. All cornfields.

I'm in Plano, right off of 75. When I get off work (about midnight), I usally go tear up the mall parking lot for about ten minutes then head home. Haven't been bothered by security yet.

There is another parking lot of an shut down movie theater that I go to during the day (because it backs up to a neighborhood). Truckers sometimes use it to sleep. Problem is there curbs with trees every ten feet or so except down the isles, so i am limited on speed.

When there is rain and I leave work at midnight, that is the best time of all.
