i have seen a few threads that mention using a 1v 10,000? resistor to fix the youre tach from 4 cylinders to 6, is this true, how true is it,?. here my dilema, i put an rb20 into a triumph spitfire (so i cant just use an r32 cluster) and want to try to use the stock tach so i dont have to cut/enlarge any holes in the wood dash. please let me know if this can be done with a resistor, and i assume a tach adapter?

Most people adjust the signal to the tach via the potentiometer screw and/or resistors. I've never messed with a Triumph tach, or anything other than a modern Nissan tach for that matter, so I'm not sure if they all work on the same principle so...

I'd say your best bet would be an aftermarket tach if you don't want to destroy/modify any stock parts, which is understandable.

I may be totally off but figured one response is better than none?
