So, what kind of racing seats/seat upgrades are people using on S13s these days?

What's up everybody... This is S13HatchLuvr using my brother's login name since mine isn't working for some reason... Anyway, I was just wondering what kind of seat upgrades those of you with S13s are using presently? I have a 1991 S13 Hatch and I'm looking for a seat upgrade to replace the old, tired, and cracked leather LE seats I've got in there now. Any ideas?

P.S. I'd like something that actually fits (both into the car and my "baller on a budget" way of spending) and still offers rear seat access. I love the Evo's Sparco seats and their generous side bolster support, but I don't know what fairly inexpensive Sparcos (or similar seat company) will offer that kind of feel!

Let's hear it!

If your going for cheap and better-than-the-s13-seat and still rear seat accesible, i would say s14 and R32 GTR seats are up there on that list. Most aftermarket seats have seat rail problems with mounting on the 240sx (the catalytic convert hump on the floor board and the rails usually make the seat way to high).

S14 seats bolt up. Mmmm... S14 leather seats in a S13 coupe. :drooling

Of course I'd rather have the R32 GTR seats, but supply's limited.

I have heard really good things about the Tenzo R's, look kinda like the Bride seats and pretty affordable too. The porsche guys swear by them...

I haveheard a lot about the r32 seats ever since it was in SCC. The only problem is I have no idea where to get them. Do you guys think they would be at a fair price. You know how people like to jack that stuff up.

Its just a matter of finding one or two and haggling down the price.

Then again, there is the always-there-to-please Corbeau. Most likely the brand I will eventually purchase. Gotta love their TRS seats. And at $640 (a pair) seems a much better than the stupidly expensive Brides. :rolleyes

Oh, and I'm not a fan of Tenzo-R seats. They don't hold me in at all around the hip area. (then again, I am pretty skinny) Plus, the cloth feels just like it costs -- cheap.

I think I'm going to go with 86 Porsche 928 seats (I believe it's the only year and car these came in). Only if I keep my AC since they are leather. Best.Seat.Ever. You can fall asleep in them and still take a corners pullin 1G because they hold so tight. If you've sat in them you'd know too.
