After owning a '90 S13 Hatch about 9 years ago.........I just got my second S13.......and it's of the topless variety

Best part is I only paid $875 for it and the body is in basically like new shape, just holes in the top from some stupid kid breaking into it where it was kept by the previous owner, that and being filthy as hell from not being washed and sitting outside for the better part of the last year. It seriously is in the best shape outta any 240 I've seen in full blown OEM trim in a LONG time. It's a '93 w/140k on it or so. New tires and such. Just has some running issues that I've already began to diagnose on this forum and seem to be easy fixes. He just needed it gone, too many vehicles. Sorry for the crappy pics, but I shot them with my camera phone when I went to check it out yesterday.

Oh don't worry, they'll be coming..........I close on my house on Friday, then I need to get this car somewhat sorted where it can be a daily driver and sell my Explorer. I would so like to do a 5spd swap asap though.........that auto is gonna kill me

Yeah, looks like you got a FANTASTIC deal on the car. There's write-ups for both the 5-speed swap and top replacement.

Welcome to the board.

Yup, got 'em both bookmarked too..........they both look fairly easy, which leads me to believe that a second set of hands that has done it before would be even better of an idea LOL!

I wish we had "Tech Days" - like AZHitman spoke of in his build thread - in this area. I'd love to assist in the 5-speed swap but don't feel competent in my skillz alone. Right now the car is about perfect and I'd hate to f@#k something up.

BTW, great deal on the Vert and welcome to the group. You'll be the envy of all your friends or at least should be!

Well, first things to do..........today was the first day I heard it run and drove it.....I threw a new battery in and she came to life. Runs REALLY rough. I bought a new distributor that comes in tomorrow and I have new iridium plugs and new plug wires. All that will happen in the next day or so, I also found a member on here that sold me a MAF for pretty cheap (just in case). If those things don't solve the problem I may just bring it down to a shop, I'd prefer to diagnose it myself, but I would really like this up to "daily driver" status asap so I can sell my Explorer. I would LOVE to do the 5spd conversion once I find someone local to help so I can avoid downtime once again. Probably break down and go ahead with the new top first though. Then maybe a new exhaust since it appears to need one. Finally I'd like some coilovers and maybe some Rotas for it, but that's all up in the air. I really just need to do all the basic maintenance first starting with an oil change I have a project on my hands......

A little update...........I have up to date installed a new battery, new plugs, new plug wires, new distributor, new dizzy cap, new fuel filter, new fuel injectors, and I installed the MAF that I bought off a member.......car runs great, but from time to time just shuts off then is hard to start..........but finally fires again. I'm thinking the fuel pump is on it's way out. Oh well, may as well just replace that too! LOL!

Ah! that reminds me of a funny story with my old vert... but it's time for me to leave work, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow.
