I asked them for a 350-400whp responsive turbo setup under $1k. They emailed me back this recommendation-

T3/T4 60-1 with a stage III in a .63 A/R will do the trick for 350 WHP now and 400WHP later down the road.

Dont you guys think this would be laggier than a 50 trim t3/t4? Or is this actually a good recommendation from them? What do you guys recommend for a daily driven work car looking for 350whp and minimal change in lag.

i think you should be fine. And NO OFFENSE, but you asked a Turbo company what would be good then you doubt it.

now = whatever you have currentlylater = adding performance parts + complimenting those mods + being able to up boost reliably with supporting mods :D

(turbo wise^)

thats what i was thinking but he didnt really say. id be surprised if you can make 350whp on just a turbo upgrade w/o the supporting mods on an rb20.

you would need at least injectors. thats why i was asking what the difference was, what would it be that would give u 50whp more later.

Forged internals and more boost. You will need larger injectors for 350whp, however, a lot of people (like myself) like to work their way up to a 400hp 240, hahaha.

stock internals are very strong...they are not the limiting factor...if anything the rod bolts will go before pistons

I think more than a few of us can say stock pistons arent invincible. A small tuning error will make short work of them.

Tuning is the most important factor. Stock internals are indeed flippin burl.

I'm making over 600 at the crank on stock RB25 internals. Like you said, it's all about the tune, although do to a grounding issue, I have knocked the motor probably 10 times or so anywhere's from 60-100 knock count on the PFC. Still going strong. I'm not saying stock is invincible, but saying you need forged internalls for 400rwhp is rediculous.

Yea 400 whp is pretty easy for an rb20 as long as you have all the supporting mods and an amazing tune. Currently we have 550 injectors and a single walbro setup to go in with the motor. Along with a z32 maf and a chipped ecu. Im hoping with tomei 272 cams I should beable to hit 350whp on pump gas and 400whp on 100 octane later on down the road with a stand alone.
