Lol, now you know, no one said that.

Wow though, Im impressed. Congratulations. What happened?

this is my deduction. someone blew a headgasket number 4 cylinder, tried to compress water, lol, and you put the rod threw the block.

Hmmm, looks nasty! But from what I see is, you put too much load on the engine. In motor terms, too much boost, too much timing, too much detonation, melted piston really bad, exposed floating piston pin, dug into cylinder wall, jammed #1 rod= Destroyed engine. And this appears to be done while putting W.O.T (wide open throttle) activities because I see the nasty pitting of the intake side of the #4 piston. That must suck, but hopefully it taught a few things. Or is this your engine?

To clear it up, this is not my engine, heh. I ripped it out of a Silvia and from what I understood was the guy that owned it imported it from Japan and then gave it on a straight away at WOT and kablewy.

If anyone wants any parts, let me know ASAP cause this thing is going quick! I already sold the intake and all the sensors and selenoids on it. I have everything in the block and head still available.

"glad I changed my mind" ... the same thing would happen to a RB or any other motor similarly disused.

For that to happen ALOT of bad things would have to be happening at once, pretty much pick a few or all out of the list of things Dee mentioned.. and probably it hadn't had any maintenance regularly, who knows what previous life it had, or even if the fluids were put in during the last few years.. comes off the boat, WOT and BOOM.. suprised?

I would be suprised if the oil in the engine had actually resembled oil..

And likely the headgasket crapped out under horrible detonation conditions from the pistons and head, that thing had been sitting a long time without care or just had not been treated well at all.. you let an engine get like that from misuse and you'll kill it, no matter what kind of engine..

Now having said that, if you have real reasons to choose something over a CA (i.e., you like it, you can afford to do what you want with it, you want the different preformance charachtistics) then thats fine. If you just are all "oh nos it might blow up" then give me a break.

ohh ssssh up biosehnsucht and by the way biosenhnsucht, the same thing would not happen to an rb because with rb's they are enough power and torque just stock so there isn't really no need to give it more tooo much boost, fuel, too much timing, to make motor throw rod, and plus there is no need to put too much laod on the engine.. unlike the ca18 and look what happend to it.. its destroyed. and c-rad ssshhsss. SORRY THAT I THINK THAT'S FUNNY! It actually is pretty funny. ca18 weak, rb motors stronger..HELL GO AHEAD AND LOOK HOW DAMN THIN THE WALLS ARE ON THE CA18 AND THEN LOOK AT RB'S.. THAT SHOULD BE ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW. So, go ahead and be all smart because I think it's funny and how i used to want a ca18 and now i can see why i don't want one because they are too weak.maybe ka's and ca's should maybe try to join to re-create a whole new stronger motor because they both are weak.

wah, RB has enough power, wah

Whatever.. if any of us had the money for an RB you know it wouldn't stay stock. If you're satisified with a stock RB.. then why bother put in an RB? Go buy a stock car that has stock "enough" power like a Z (pretty much any year) or similar offerings from other brands (Supra, Mustang, RX7, Camaro, WRX.. )

yeah those walls are so thing we can't overbore a mm safely.. oh WAIT I DID! I've been running on ****ty halfassed lazy tuning that even pings when it gets hot some without any issues.. (need to get me a hole in front of that IC for some airflow) Hell some have gone further than that on bore ..

Of course its funny to see the blown up engine, as long as the guy doesn't care it let go and/or did it inentionally.

I have seen similar photos of just about any engine you can imagine. You can kill anything with enough carelessness and old motors coming from japan, in a car or not, are often not fit enough to be driven even moderately hard by the time we get them. Hell, even the ones that run nicely when torn down can look scarey, possibly downright suicidal. Any motor you don't rebuild from the moment you get it is a chance at catastrophic failure. And don't think I mean any CA18DET, no I mean ANY motor.

Obviously you haven't been doing any real research into what these things can and can't handle, and what it takes. Seems you just like pretty pictures, just cause they're "worth a thousand words" doesn't mean they tell the whole story. Sorry, but we expect a minimum of actual intelligence, research, and just plain common ****ing sense around here. This isn't kindergarden, we won't hold you hands, and we're don't hand out picture ****ing books.

So if you want the pictures to speak for you, I have an idea.

How about you never show your ignorant face on this section of the forum again?

That has got to be one of the most unintelligent, and ignorant posts I've ever seen here on Nico. When you don't know what you're talking about, keep your mouth shut. It's quite plain that you have no understanding of CA or RB motors, let alone how engines work in the first place, and then to make a post declaring your all powerful righteousness and wisdom. Go back to the chevy cavalier club where you came from.

DJLiquid,Please reserve any future posts of this nature to some other forum that is as ignorant about the workings of the internal combustion engine as you are.
